COA basics • start here

A COA is the lab report for a sample.

COA means Certificate of Analysis. It should help you connect a result to a specific sample, lot, laboratory, test method, and date. Start with these three questions.

  1. 01
    Does it match?

Match the product name and lot or batch number on the report to the item you are checking.

  2. 02
    What was tested?

Identity, amount, purity, sterility, and endotoxin answer different questions. Look for the method and result for each one.

  3. 03
    Can you verify it?

Check the laboratory independently and look for a complete, dated report rather than a cropped result or one unexplained percentage.

Makay Groves, creator of LIFT with Makay

Why I built LIFT

Hi, I’m Makay.

I’ve spent 17 years in fitness and currently work as a trainer. I hold current NCCPT and ISSA personal-training certifications, plus ISSA credentials in nutrition coaching, corrective exercise, and strength and conditioning.

Now I read studies, FDA records, and lab reports so I can explain the useful parts in plain English.

I’m not a clinician, and I’m still learning. I’ll tell you when the evidence is limited.

  • NCCPT Certified Personal Trainer
  • ISSA Certified Personal Trainer
  • ISSA Nutrition Coach
  • ISSA Corrective Exercise Specialist
  • ISSA Strength & Conditioning

I’m also a pilot, former air traffic controller, and law student. I’m still learning, and I’m not a clinician or laboratory professional.

LIFT keeps educational conclusions separate from commercial relationships. The current Peptidology relationship and full disclosure are listed on the partnerships page.
